New appointments for Acrisure Re

International broker Acrisure has appointed Ian Wicks as executive vice president and Simon Arnott as senior vice president to its reinsurance division.

Wicks will join Acrisure Re’s London office, reporting to partner Nigel Dane and focussing on casualty business and a broader strategic role. Arnott will be based in Bermuda and report to Clark Hontz, president of Acrisure Re Bermuda. His role will focus on sourcing new business and expanding Acrisure Re’s property cat and retro offerings.

Both bring significant experience. Wicks is chairman for non-marine reinsurance at Ed Broking and a former executive director of Willis Re. He began his career with Fenchurch Reinsurance brokers over three decades ago. Arnott joins from ILS manager Securis Investment Partners, where he was head of non-life business development. Before that, he was executive vice president for underwriting at Tokio Millennium Re.

Hontz said: “I am delighted to welcome Simon to the Bermuda team. His vast experience in structuring and pricing programs, extensive knowledge of the ILS market and broad network of global market relationships will significantly enhance our production capabilities and market insights.

On the appointment of Wicks, Dane said: “I am so pleased to welcome Ian to our casualty team in London and look forward to working with him as we expand our footprint in third party lines.”
