New CIO for Denver workers comp insurer Pinnacol

Denver’s workers’ compensation insurer Pinnacol Assurance has appointed Jennifer Neppel has as its chief investment officer. She’ll succeed David Bomberger, who retires in March after nine years with the insurer.

Neppel has significant experience in both investment management and insurance, after 25 years with CommonSpirit Health (previously Catholic Health Initiatives), a national Catholic healthcare system headquartered in Colorado.

She was most recently its director of investments and responsible for managing portfolios for its captive insurance, operating, retirement, defined contribution and foundation investments.

“Our mission and purpose are central to everything we do, and these were strong drivers of her decision to join our team.”
