AM Best affirms rating of United Educators

United Educators Insurance (UE), a reciprocal risk retention group serving educational institutions, has had its A (Excellent) financial strength rating affirmed by AM Best for the 24th consecutive year.

AM Best said the ratings reflect its very strong balance sheet, favorable business profile, and appropriate enterprise risk management practices. It stated that UE’s business profile is “favorable due to a strong market position and diversification of risk by region and type of institution.”

In addition, the rating reflects UE’s “very strong level of capitalization, favorable operating performance, and expertise as a niche writer."

“In this era of tremendous uncertainty, we’re pleased that AM Best continues to recognize UE as a financially stable alternative for institutions seeking our education-specific expertise,” said Janice Abraham, president and CEO. “Our commitment to serving K-12 schools, colleges, and universities enables these institutions to focus on their unique mission and adapt their strategic goals to address the dynamic environment in which they operate."

UE is a licensed insurance company owned and governed by more than 1,600 members representing thousands of schools, colleges, and universities throughout the US. UE members range from small, private schools to multi-campus public universities.
