Artex names Guernsey office chief as head of European operations

Artex Risk Solutions has appointed Peter Child as its head of its European operations, with oversight of Guernsey, Malta, Gibraltar and London offices.

Child continues in his role as managing director of the Guernsey office, and still reports to Nick Heys, CEO of Artex International.

Child has 20 years of insurance experience, having started his insurance career in underwriting at Euler Hermes. He held a position at the Guernsey Financial Services Commission, before returning to the management of insurance programs at Aon. In 2007, he became director at Heritage, which was subsequently acquired by Artex in 2014. In 2016 Child was promoted to managing director of the Guernsey office.

Heys praised Child as “an integral part of our management team” who has served at that level for more than a decade. “His leadership has been key to our success in Guernsey,”he added. “Extending [Child’s] responsibility to our other European locations positions us for continued growth in the marketplace.”
