BDO hires Ed Koral to beef up insurance and risk advisory

Ed Koral has joined BDO as managing director in its insurance risk advisory practice.

Koral was formerly at Deloitte where he was specialist leader in the risk management consulting practice. Prior to joining Deloitte in 2002, Koral spent 17 years with Marsh and its predecessor companies, working with large corporate insureds on alternative risk programs such as captives, self-insurance and structured transactions. He also served as director of risk financing at American Express for a short time.

Koral now reports to Mark Millard, BDO’s insurance risk advisory practice leader and builds up BDO’s capabilities in insurance and risk management advisory. He focuses on captives, self-insurance, departmental organisation, insurance vendor and sourcing management, M&A due diligence analysis and ‘day one readiness’ projects.
