Calderwood bolsters team, targets captives board support

Calderwood, a Cayman Islands boutique fund governance firm, has expanded its senior team with two key appointments, one of which has a background in captive insurance and will seek appointments to the boards of captives.

Jason Perras and Rena Strecker both join as independent directors. Perras joins Calderwood with experience in the investment fund space. Previously, Perras was Head of Client Operations and Executive Director at MUFG Alternative Fund Services (Cayman).

Perras spent over 15 years with MUFG, including his time with UBS Fund Services (Cayman), prior to the MUFG acquisition. Before that, he worked with Deloitte & Touche in the Cayman Islands and with PwC in Canada.

Strecker is highly experienced in the insurance and reinsurance industry. As an independent director with Calderwood, she will accept appointments on the boards of captive, insurance and reinsurance companies, advising on financial, operational and corporate governance matters.

With over 20 years’ experience in the sector, Strecker has held a number of senior positions within property & casualty insurance/reinsurance, life & pension and captive insurance. Prior to joining Calderwood, Strecker worked for Greenlight Re in the Cayman Islands as the Team Head for middle office operations. Previously, she consulted for AIG in London and New York, served as a Vice President with Goldman Sachs in London and worked with Global Captive Management in the Cayman Islands.
