Chris Le Conte Award nominees named

Captives experts are well represented in nominations for the Guernsey International Insurance Association’s Chris Le Conte Award.

The award is named in honour of the late Chris Le Conte, who founded the insurance management and financial advisory group Robus. And Robus insurance manager Laura Boyd is among the nominees.

Boyd has been with the firm for over two years and services a portfolio that includes captives, protected cells and direct insurers. She previously spent 13 years with Rossborough Insurance, owned by broker Gallagher.

Other nominees include Lesley Howgego, actuarial consultant at Strategic Risk Solutions; Robyn Wild at WTW; law firm Walkers partner Kate Storey; Emily Wild, head of events at promotional body WE ARE GUERNSEY; Rob Hall, finance manager at AGP Insurance; Louise Coxon, associate director at Aon Guernsey; and Hamish Champion, senior insurance manager of White Rock Insurance Company PCC.

The award recognises individuals who have demonstrated potential and contributed to benefit a client, their firm or Guernsey’s wider insurance industry. The winner, chosen by the GIIA committee, will be announced at tonight’s GIIA annual dinner.
