Clyde & Co promotes 12 partners; opens Bristol office

Law firm Clyde & Co has promoted 12 new equity partners across its international network, growing the firm's partner base to over 400 partners worldwide.

The promotions are effective May 1, and insurance sees the largest intake of new partners (6), followed by corporate (3), employment (1), real estate (1) and marine (1).

Also effective on May 1, the law firm will be opening a new office in Bristol, the UK.

Five of the promotions are outside the UK, three are in the Middle East and Africa (MEA), one in Asia Pacific and one in the US.

In the UK, there were three new partners in London and four outside the capital - two in Manchester, one in Leeds, and one in Guildford.

Tom Cawley has been promoted in the London casualty team and will be joined in May by lateral hires, Jennette Newman and Jonathan Edwards.

Damian Rourke is now technical lead for the firm's counter-fraud team, which is based in Manchester. Other promotions include Angela Haylett, London (insurance); William Hogarth, London (corporate insurance); Gordon Walker, Leeds (insurance - professional liability); and Christina (Tina) Marshall, San Francisco (insurance - professional liability)

In the past year, Clyde & Co has made 50 partner-level hirers.

"We're proud of this year's promotions round, which represents the increasing diversity of our business across geographies, sectors and skills sets,” said Simon Konsta, senior partner at Clyde & Co. “These 12 partners are talented lawyers who have achieved what they have already by consistently demonstrating the market-leading advice, acumen and client skills that we're known for within our sectors and specialist areas."
