Dates for Bermuda Captives Conference unveiled

The theme of this year’s Bermuda Captive Conference is adaptability as the organisers set out their stall for the upcoming event in September.

Sessions at the event will explore everything captive related from the future of AI in insurance to navigating macro issues in the captive arena, as well as one session called “CSI captive: uncovering fraud with forensic claims analysis”. Delegates will be able to hear from a multitude of prestigious speakers including the Premier of Bermuda David Burt, senior vice-president – head of underwriting and claims at WTW Leslie Robinson, and chairman and CEO at PRP Performa Hugh Barit.

Adaptability was chosen as the conference theme to highlight the strength and stability of Bermuda’s captive industry, according to organisers the Bermuda Captive Network (BCN). Bermuda boasts nearly 700 active captive licences on its register and is a major global hub for captive insurance. The island supports primarily Fortune 500 corporations and generates about $40 billion in annual gross written premiums, BCN said.

The Bermuda Captive Conference opens with its waterside cocktail reception on September 11, and continues on September 12 and 13 with conference sessions offering insight from industry experts at the Hamilton Princess Hotel & Beach Club, in Hamilton.
