Gallagher Bassett establishes COVID-19 taskforce


Gallagher Bassett, the risk and claims management company, has established a global coronavirus task force, comprised of lines of business experts across major injury exposures.

This task force is responsible for overseeing its response to the COVID-19 pandemic and ensuring that current and evolving protocols for handling its response are effectively implemented and adhered to. It also responsible for providing any necessary technical oversight on individual claims as the situation evolves.

Gallagher Bassett has also engaged its business continuity team as it prepares for potential business operations interruptions. The company said it will ensure its workforce is prepared to handle claims remotely, and has conducted testing of remote work technologies to ensure there is no drop in the quality of service delivered to clients.

Simon Pemberton, Gallagher Bassett's chief executive officer, promised the company would support clients as they address health and safety and reduce risk. “With more cases appearing globally and concern growing daily, we stand ready to help our clients and partners navigate these challenging times with confidence,” he said.
