Heineken appoints former Britishvolt executive as insurance manager

John Cavanagh has been appointed to the position of insurance manager at Heineken UK.

Cavanagh was previously the head of insurance at UK battery start-up Britishvolt from June 2021 until this month.

Britishvolt was placed into administration on January 17 after senior management decided that there was no way to keep the company, which was planning to build a £3.8 billion car battery factory in Northumberland, operational.

Prior to that Cavanagh was director of insurance at financial company Refinitiv from October 2018 to April 2021. He was director of insurance at Thomson Reuters from March 2010 until September 2018.
