Marsh has announced that it will be adding 60 jobs to its Halifax-based Captive Solutions Group in Canada.
Marsh developed its presence in Halifax, Nova Scotia back in 2006 when it had around 10 international accounts under management. It now boasts 300 accounts, with more than 1,200 captives receiving consultancy and management services from Marsh worldwide.
Commenting on the expansion of its Halifax team, Julie Boucher, practice leader, Marsh Captive Solutions Group said: "Our Halifax people are known for their productivity, efficiency, and are consistently early adopters of new technology we've introduced. The Halifax team will be instrumental in rolling out our new global initiatives, to our Marsh Captive Solutions' offices around the world."
Nova Scotia is supporting the presence of Marsh with incentives issued through Nova Scotia Business Inc (NSBI). A recent examination of the performance of NSBI clients carried out by Gardner Pinfold found that they contributed $139.2 million in new provincial tax revenues, with every dollar invested returning $1.54 to the province. Marsh’s continuing commitment to the province will further strengthen the attractions of supporting international business.
Commenting on the move, Stephen Lund, president and CEO of NSBI said: "Our financial services sector in the province has been growing, and Marsh is a valuable asset to that growth," said. "We're excited about Marsh's growth plans and the momentum it adds to the entire sector."
