Marsh unveils leadership changes at Marsh Captive Solutions


Marsh has announced new leadership appointments within Marsh Captive Solutions.

As from February 1, 2023, Lorraine Stack, Dublin-based international consulting and sales leader, will assume the additional role of leader of Marsh Captive Solutions’ Ireland operations, reporting to Ellen Charnley, president of Marsh Captive Solutions.

In this role, which is pending regulatory approval, Stack will be responsible for leading a team of specialists managing single parent captives and special purpose vehicles domiciled in Dublin, in addition to leading the international consulting and business development team. Stack has more than 25 years of insurance experience having served in various roles of increasing responsibility at Marsh Captive Solutions. She succeeds Brian McDonagh, who is retiring from Marsh after 27 years of service.

Stuart Herbert, currently Marsh Captive Solutions Asia Pacific leader, will assume the new role of international captive consulting practice leader, reporting into Stack, effective January 1, 2023. In this role, Herbert will lead a team responsible for captive feasibility studies and strategic reviews for prospective and current captive owners.

Herbert, who has held a variety of roles within Marsh Captive Solutions since joining the organization in 1998, is relocating to the UK from Singapore. He succeeds Stephen Hawkes, who is retiring after 29 years with the company.

Finally Nisala Weerasooriya will succeed Herbert as leader of Marsh Captive Solutions’ Asia Pacific operations, which include oversite of captive offices in Singapore, Australia, and Labuan in Malaysia. Weerasooriya has 30 years of experience in various client service roles at Marsh and currently serves as head of Marsh Captive Solutions’ New York operations. He will relocate to Singapore from New York and report to William Thomas-Ferrand, leader, Marsh Captive Solutions, International.
