MiN publishes annual report

The Microinsurance Network (MiN) has published its annual report for 2021.

Katharine Pulvermacher, MiN executive director, commented that 2022 marks 20 years since the founding of the CGAP Working Group on Microinsurance, and ten years since the MiN’s incorporation as a non-profit association.

“As we enter the next decade of service, I am confident the MiN’s partnerships, financing and governance are stronger than ever and that we are strategically placed to play a key role in creating positive actions for needed social and economic change,” she said.

Lorenzo Chan, MiN Board Chair, added that as the MiN commemorates its 20th anniversary, it can be rightly proud that it has contributed to the reduction of risk and opened access to affordable protection for millions of people.

“Our successful regionalisation strategy enables us to be closer and more relevant to those we seek to serve,” said Chan. “Although insurance alone will not reduce inequalities in wealth, health or gender, it is clear – just under eight years from the targeted realisation of the UN Sustainable Development Goals – microinsurance plays a key role in preventing individuals, families and businesses from falling back into poverty whenever crisis strikes.”
