MMA names new vice chairman

Marsh & McLennan Agency (MMA) has named Paul Hering as vice chairman, responsible for helping to lead growth strategies including talent development, acquisitions and carrier relations.

He continues to serve on MMA’s national strategy team, developing and executing other corporate initiatives.

Hering previously served as chairman of MMA’s West region, after 16 years as CEO of Barney & Barney, a San Diego-based insurance agency MMA acquired in 2014.

He remains based in San Diego, reporting to David Eslick, MMA chairman and CEO.

Eslick described Hering as “an outstanding industry leader with nearly four decades of experience in serving clients’ insurance needs.”

MMA is the middle market agency subsidiary of Marsh.
