SIANN announces sovereign insurance conference details

The Sovereign Insurance Association for Native Nations (SIANN) has announced that the first ever Tribal Sovereign Insurance Company Conference will take place on March 13th & 14th, 2024.

The event will take place at the Gila River Reservation, Phoenix, Arizona.

The purpose of the conference is to motivate tribes to form and operate sovereign insurance companies. Potential attendees should include tribal representatives, elected leadership, and risk management personnel.

Sessions will include an introduction to sovereign insurance, also known as captive insurance, a primer on the basics of these insurers, sovereignty and self-regulation, the Tribal Domicile and using a sovereign for employee & tribal citizen benefits.

"SIANN is excited to spearhead the expansion of sovereign insurance companies across Indian Country," stated SIANN Executive Director Kenny Tolbert (Choctaw).

"We believe that the first-ever Tribal Sovereign Insurance Company Conference will engender dozens of tribal insurance companies."
