Tony De Quintal makes partner at Walkers

Tony De Quintal has been made a partner of Caymans law firm Walkers.

De Quintal, who won the award for the best lawyer at Captive International’s 2021 Cayman Awards, joined Walkers (which won best law firm) in August 2018 and was senior counsel. Qualified in the Cayman Islands, South Africa and the UK, he is an authority in financial services regulation and legislation, particularly prudential standards relating to insurance, banking, and asset managers.

De Quintal was previously global vice president for compliance and general counsel at Tempo Worldwide and, before that, a chief analyst with the Cayman Islands Monetary Authority. He has also served as general counsel for the UK’s FSA (now the Prudential Regulatory Authority).

“Absolutely thrilled to have been asked to join the partnership at this great law firm,” De Quintal wrote in an update.
