VCIA issues reminder over tax forum

The Vermont Captive Insurance Association (VCIA) has issued a reminder about its forthcoming captive taxation event.

The VCIA event, entitled ‘Captive Taxation: Current Issues and Open Forum’, will be on Tuesday, December 12th.

In a statement the VCIA said: “Join us on December 12th as our esteemed captive tax specialists review current tax issues through a case study examining a multinational organisation’s considerations when proposing to form a captive insurance company domiciled in Vermont.

“This year’s session reviews the federal tax building blocks required for captive insurance company tax treatment and expands to include the implications of a worldwide organisation.”

The VCIA added that session highlights will include an overview of state and federal tax considerations of insuring US risks, as well as the implications on international operations and structure. The event will include an analysis of the tax principles when evaluating the formation and operation of a captive insurance company. It will also navigate the various issues impacting worldwide organisations looking to finance risk through a US based captive insurance company.
