Working group to see new Gibraltar captive law

Gibraltar’s new captive insurance legislation is “almost ready” and will be shared with a working group next week, it has been announced.

Nigel Feetham, the Minister for Justice, Trade and Industry of the Government of Gibraltar, made the announcement in a post on X, formerly known as Twitter.

“I have this afternoon invited local stakeholders to join a Government Working Group I have set up to work with me and the FSC on the captive insurance regime,” Feetham said. “A first draft of legislation is almost ready and I will be sharing it with the working group when we first meet next week.”

Gibraltar announced that it was working on new legislation for its captive regime in 2023 and Feetham has frequently commented on the opportunities that the British Overseas Territory can offer the captive insurance industry.
