Registration opens for virtual Bermuda Captive Conference

Registration has opened for June’s Bermuda Captive Conference (BCC).

This year BCC will provide an examination of emerging trends in the captive market and meaningful networking experiences, using the digital platform seen for the event in 2020 but with a number of new features.

The event will offer video conferencing opportunities for individuals and groups, as well as improved networking flexibility and interactive breakout sessions, the event’s organisers said. Sponsors can make presentations and meet attendees face-to-face directly from their booths.

Gemma Godfrey, chief operating officer of The Whitfield Group and a conference management team member, said it had elected to hold the conference virtually again in 2021 due to the number of countries and regions still operating with social distancing measures in place.

“Although there was initially talk of developing a hybrid event model, this was not feasible, and so the decision was made to host the event virtually again,” she explained. “Based on metrics and feedback we gathered from the 2020 event, we have a good idea of what attendees and our sponsors are looking for from a virtual product.”

BCC was created in 2004 to help promote, support and grow the island’s world-leading captive insurance industry sector. Attendees include captive insurance owners, risk managers, sponsors, vendors, plus legal, audit, banking and support services, from Bermuda, North America, Caribbean, Latin America, Europe, Asia, Africa and the UK.
