CICA unveils cross-cultural-explorer as keynote speaker at 2018 event
The Captive Insurance Companies Association (CICA) has unveiled the keynote speaker at its 2018 International Conference, which will be held between March 11 and 13 at the Westin Kierland Resort & Spa, Scottsdale, Arizona.
Chris Bashinelli, a self-styled cross-cultural-explorer, will offer inspiration and advice to delegates. His speaking style has been developed over decades as a social entrepreneur, explorer and television host. He shares the formula he uses for everything from moderating major events for the United Nations with no formal training to executive producing a TV Show for PBS at 23 years old.
Bashinelli has also led a National Geographic Expedition in Mongolia, where he lived as a nomad. His unique life path has brought him to nearly 40 countries, building bridges across cultures and gaining unprecedented insight into the universal human experience.
"What struck me about Chris was his positive energy and how he connects with people through his enthusiasm. I think when people hear him they are going to lean forward in their chairs and listen. He is entertaining and he delivers a powerful message that can help to inspire all of us to look at things with a different perspective," said CICA President Dan Towle.
Brian Johnson, CEO, Risk International Actuarial Consulting, whose company is sponsoring Bashinelli's presentation, added: "We're proud to be sponsoring Chris Bashinelli's keynote for the CICA Conference. His success is driven by his incredible passion for change and that's inspiring to all of us facing the myriad of simultaneous changes affecting the captive insurance industry right now."
The CICA Conference agenda offers 29 hours of education covering a broad spectrum of issues from technology, cyber risk and regulatory issues to engaging the next generation of captive professionals. The new Professional Development Track helps captive and risk management professionals learn skills to engage human resources, finance and executives in developing strategies for optimal uses of captive insurance companies.
CICA's domicile-neutral environment brings together the perfect blend of captive owners, potential captive owners, captive managers, risk managers, domicile regulators and service providers.
