RIMS appoints Ellen Dunkin as president for its 2021 term
RIMS, the risk management society, has appointed Ellen Dunkin as president for the 2021 term.
Dunkin is general counsel and chief risk officer for Amalgamated Life Insurance Company in White Plains, New York. She has more than 25 years of experience driving strategic and enterprise risk management programmes and has overseen legal initiatives for companies including Crump Group, Marsh & McLennan and Willkie Farr & Gallagher.
She was employed by RIMS from 1998–2007, serving as the Society’s general counsel and director of government affairs. She has been a member of RIMS for nearly 15 years and was actively involved with RIMS New York Chapter, serving as its president from 2015 to 2016.
Dunkin joined RIMS’ global board of directors in 2017 and has been the liaison to its finance, annual conference programming, membership, student involvement and Canada committees and councils. She was also a Spencer Educational Foundation board of director in 2000.
Dunkin promised to continue the work of her predecessors and to remain focused on developing resources to address evolving risks.

We must continue to promote the value that we add, our impact on business development and position ourselves as indispensable strategic advisors who are pivotal to future success.
