Ruth Rauluk named as director of risk management at the Five College Consortium

Ruth Rauluk has been named as the new director of risk management for the Five College Consortium.

Rauluk manages the insurance and risk management programmes of Amherst, Hampshire, Mount Holyoke, and Smith Colleges, as well as for Five Colleges itself. She also manages the captive insurance programme that the four campuses and consortium own, and develops and implements enterprise risk management programmes for each institution.

The Five College Consortium has saved millions of dollars over the past 20 years by pooling its members’ resources into a single risk management office and captive insurance programme. The fifth campus of the consortium, the University of Massachusetts Amherst, maintains its own risk management and captive insurance programmes.

Rauluk was formerly the associate vice president of risk management at Point Park University in Pittsburgh. She is active in the University Risk Management and Insurance Association and at Point Park University helped establish the university’s risk management programme.

She replaces Stacie Kroll, who served in the position since 2016.

Sarah Pfatteicher, executive director at Five Colleges, said: “Ruth will bring strong experience in the three core areas of the position -- insurance, risk management, and enterprise risk management.”
