Beazley makes five M&A appointments in the US, Europe and Asia
Beazley has expanded its mergers & acquisitions (M&A) team with the appointment of five new underwriters.
Lorraine Lloyd-Thomas and Cameron McCoy join the group in London, while Melanie Walker takes up her post in Atlanta. Kirsten Windle-Wehrle joins in Munich to cover German-speaking Europe, while Jordan Schwarz moves to Singapore from the London office.
Lloyd-Thomas joins from Marsh where she spent 14 years, most recently as a managing director in the UK private equity and M&A practice.
McCoy is responsible for underwriting UK and international M&A risks, having previously worked as an M&A underwriter at AIG and a corporate lawyer.
Walker increases Beazley’s capacity for US domestic risks, and was most recently an associate with Morris, Manning & Martin, focusing on M&A.
Windle-Wehrle underwrites M&A transaction liability business globally, and joins from Frankfurt-based commercial law firm Oppenhoff & Partner Rechtsanwälte and Steuerberater, where she was a specialist M&A lawyer.
Schwarz supports increased demand in Singapore, Australia and New Zealand and works alongside Jade Cummings in Singapore, who joined Beazley in November from McAfee, LLC, where she served as a legal counsel.
Tim Allen, Beazley’s global head of M&A, noted Beazley’s M&A team has grown from three people to 14 in four years, with new offices in Munich, Singapore and Denver, to complement its existing offices in London and Atlanta.
“We have seen increased interest in protecting transactions through insurance and we are expanding the team to meet this rising demand,” he said.
