Drinker Biddle & Reath boost insurance team

Law firm Drinker Biddle & Reath has strengthened its insurance transactional and regulatory team with the appointment of Michael Halsband.

Based in the New York City office, Halsband brings 25 years of broad leadership experience in the re/insurance to the firm.

Halsband was the founding senior executive and president of the capital markets and insurance-linked securities (ILS) convergence initiative at Sirius Group, where he was principally responsible for development and launch of convergence strategy, design and structuring of third-party institutional cat platform.

Prior to this, Halsband was the director of capital markets and treasury solutions at Deutsche Bank, engaged in the origination, structuring, execution and marketing of a range of ILS transactions sponsored by the some of the insurance market’s leading and most well known names.
