Epic poaches captives exec from Artex

Epic Insurance Brokers and Consultants has hired Sam Wagener to provide risk management and insurance solutions, including captive insurance programmes, to clients in the West region.

Wagener has more than 20 years of industry experience, having held positions on the brokerage and carrier sides of the insurance industry. He joins from Artex Risk Solutions where he was senior vice president of group captives, focusing on managing relationships, operations and related services of five member-owned captives.

In his new role Wagener leverages relationships across Epic in property and casualty, employee benefits and executive benefits lines of business. He reports to Brian Quinn, Epic’s managing principal.
