Guy Carpenter promotes Gaudron to lead the business in France
Guy Carpenter & Company has appointed Christophe Gaudron as chief executive officer (CEO) for the business in France.
Gaudron will take up his post from the start of 2022, replacing Phillippe Renault who will continue in his role as chairman of Guy Carpenter Europe. Gaudron will be responsible for overseeing Guy Carpenter’s broking activities across the French market. He will be based in Paris and will report to Massimo Reina, Guy Carpenter’s chief executive officer for Europe.
Gaudron has more than 20 years of reinsurance experience, particularly in France. He joined Guy Carpenter in 2010 and was appointed deputy CEO for France in 2014. Before that he was at Aon Benfield where he held a number of management positions.
Meanwhile, Guy Carpenter has also named Michel den Boer as managing director of treaty broking in Benelux, with immediate effect, to support its expansion in that region. He has more than 30 years of experience and joins from Willis Re where he was an executive director and treaty broker within its Continental Europe division, focusing on the Netherlands.
den Boer is based in Rotterdam, working primarily within the Dutch market and reporting to Patrick Schepens, CEO of Guy Carpenter Benelux.
Schepens highlighted den Boer’s “combination of experience, market insight and service dedication” which he said “will be integral to continuing to elevate our client offering and reinforcing our position as a leading reinsurance broker in the Dutch market.”
