MARM elects president

The Malta Association of Risk Management (MARM) has elected Ian-Edward Stafrace as president.

MARM has represented the risk management profession in Malta since 2011.

In addition, the new board was elected for the next two years. This included former outgoing president Dr Simon Grima, who will now take care of education and certification affairs, and Dominic Dish, who has been appointed as vice president.

Sharon Cilia Tortell and Andre Farrigia will remain in their current roles as treasurer and secretary, respectively. Completing the board is Ingrid Azzopardi, public relations officer; Mark Zammit, who will be responsible for membership and sponsorships, and Dr Robert Cachia, events co-ordinator.

Stafrace said: “We want to help risk students and risk managers build their skill-set and prepare them for future risk leadership roles.

“The new board is privileged that during its term, Malta will host for the first time FERMA’s biennial risk management seminar in October 2016. This will be a unique and exciting opportunity with hundreds of risk management experts coming from all across Europe.”
