Marsh names senior appointments for captive service

The Bermuda operations of captive manager Marsh IAS has appointed Jill Husbands as chairman and Lawrence Bird as head of office for Marsh IAS in Bermuda.

As chairman, Husbands will focus on strategic growth initiatives and key client relationships, and will continue as the country corporate officer of all Marsh & McLennan Companies in Bermuda.

In his new role, Bird will lead the delivery of Marsh’s client value proposition, and focus on driving growth in our current and future platform in Bermuda. In his previous role as the client leader in the Bermuda office, Bird was responsible for the services provided to clients by the client service teams. He has worked for Marsh for more than 20 years and was promoted to managing director in July 2010.

“Jill and Lawrence both are longstanding leaders at Marsh IAS and influencers in our industry<” said Chris Lay, president of Marsh Captive Solutions. “We are delighted to announce these appointments, which are reflective of Jill and Lawrence’s accomplishments.

He added: “These appointments will further reinforce our position as leaders in Bermuda, the world’s largest domicile for captives, and position us well for future growth and development.”
