NFP, the insurance broker and consultant, has hired TJ Scherer as a senior captive consultant in its risk and insurance strategy collective (RISC) business.
RISC is a specialty practice within NFP that provides a comprehensive range of tech-forward alternative risk, captive consulting and ongoing captive management solutions. Scherer has over ten years of experience in the captive and tax space, with a particular background in complex captive design and management. He was most recently at Artex Risk Solutions where he managed captive insurance companies while collaborating with and mentoring a team of industry professionals.
In his new role he reports to Kara Tencellent, managing director and co-leader of RISC. Working with Tencellent and Tracy Stopford, RISC’s other co-leader, he is responsible for driving domestic and international business development and providing strategic captive consultation and planning advice.
Tencellent praised Scherer’s “innate ability to solve problems and develop solutions,” stressing he will expand NFP’s ability to cultivate and grow strong strategic risk management relationships with its clients.
