Hanover Stone hires national practice leaders and senior risk advisors

Hanover Stone Partners, a risk management consulting firm, has appointed Ted Dann and Paul Petrylak as national practice leaders and senior risk advisors.

The executives, who are based in Raleigh and New York respectively, add to the firm's risk management knowledge in the real estate sector as well as in financial products advisory services.

Prior to Hanover Stone Partners, Dann, a certified public accountant with over 20 years of experience in real estate, served as an in-sourced risk management consultant in Chicago for property management firm, Jones Lang LaSalle.

From 2010 to 2014, Dann was a principal consultant for enterprise risk management at AMX International in Raleigh, North Carolina.

Petrylak has over 20 years of experience in risk management and re/insurance, including the creation and application of innovative financial solutions.

Prior to Hannover, he served as president of CIT Insurance Services, where he deployed risk management strategies, including captives, residual value, trade credit and credit risk, to address inherent banking business risks.

Before that, Petrylak had a number of senior positions at JP Morgan Chase Bank, including CEO of Chase Insurance Group. In this role, he expanded utilisation of on-shore and off-shore captives to help mitigate credit risk.

"The US real estate sector faces unique exposures that demand specialised risk management expertise. Meanwhile, despite the prolonged soft commercial insurance market, businesses in all sectors continue to look for innovative solutions to address liabilities, and protect and strengthen their balance sheet," said John Kelly, founder and CEO of Hanover Stone Partners.

"Ted and Paul are recognised leaders with proven expertise in real estate and financial products, respectively, who have brought innovative and meaningful solutions to manage complex risks and drive success."
