Towle: captive innovation to headline CICA 2024

This year’s Captive Insurance Companies Association (CICA) annual conference, in Scottsdale Arizona, will focus on captive innovation, Dan Towle president of CICA, told Captive International.

Captives have always been intrinsically associated with innovation, but change is happening more rapidly than ever, which creates challenges and opportunities, Towle said. This year’s conference will have sessions on everything from the latest tax issues to global challenges and driving innovation and growth through diversity.

“The trend in the captive insurance industry right now is growth and we are seeing that reflected in this year’s outstanding attendance and participation for our CICA International Conference with all numbers well above last year,” Towle explained.

“We have a tremendous conference educational program with 35 sessions and a diverse lineup of over 120 industry experts covering a wealth of emerging issues, captive opportunities, and sessions that focus on engaging and supporting the talent we need to help drive future innovation and growth for the captive industry.”

Towle added that CICA’s broad audience and its domicile-neutral environment facilitate networking that leads to creative solutions in ways other conferences can’t offer.

Whilst the final number of attendees is still undeclared CICA said that this year’s numbers are ‘outstanding’ and that the final numbers will be announced at the event. Towle and CICA board chair Nick Hentges will both report on the progress of CICA since 2023 at the Monday morning general session.
