Ratings withdrawn from healthcare risk retention group

AM Best has withdrawn the financial strength rating and issuer credit rating of Healthcare Safety & Protection Risk Retention Group, a South Carolina captive, following its dissolution. HSPRRG was affiliated with NORCAL Mutual Insurance Company, a San Francisco-based medical professional liability insurance company.

According to the rating agency, the withdrawal reflects the June 30th dissolution of HSPRRG. The ratings of NORCAL were not affected.
