Women entrepreneurs to be honoured at charity gala
ConnectUW Holdings is to hold a charity gala dinner for The Cherie Blair Foundation for Women, which supports women entrepreneurs in low-and-middle-income countries to start, sustain and grow successful businesses.
The gala on 14th October 2024 will be supported by leading London Market companies and held at the Institute of Directors headquarters in Pall Mall, London on the occasion of the 10th anniversary of GBN Worldwide, the world’s insurance network.
Cherie Blair CBE KC will attend in person to share the inspirational work of the Foundation with attendees. In partnership with companies such as ConnectUW, the Foundation is working to eliminate barriers to entrepreneurship for women, enabling women’s economic justice.
Insurance professionals from the London Market and across the globe will attend to join ConnectUW in support of the Foundation’s work.
Jamil Elbahou, chief executive of ConnectUW and chairman of GBN Worldwide said: “Empowering women across the globe is a cause and mission closely aligned with our philosophy and we hope the charity gala with The Cherie Blair Foundation for Women will be the first of many to come. Across the world, women are still being held back, short changed and denied the ability to succeed. We look forward to supporting them through The Cherie Blair Foundation for Women and to welcoming GBN members to London to celebrate the network’s 10th anniversary and thank them for supporting this hugely worthwhile cause.
“I also want to thank the other participating firms in the London Market for their priceless support who have agreed to join the cause with our aspirations for this to become an annual charity event in the insurance calendar.”
