Zurich NA expands Scherzinger's role

Zurich North America’s Head of Captives Sales and Execution, Adriana Scherzinger, is taking on additional, complementary responsibilities with Zurich’s Alternative Risk Solutions business.

Her added accountability includes collaborating with corporate clients and brokers who are exploring alternative insurance and reinsurance solutions. This will include tailoring multi-year and multi-line agreements that cover a broad range of risks, leveraging Zurich’s U.S. National Accounts expertise in captives and alternative risk capabilities.

Andrew Zoller, Head of International for Zurich North America said “Adriana’s appointment is yet another way we’re continuing to invest in our alternative risk capabilities and broadening our customer base, product density and offerings."

Scherzinger commented, “Zurich is a proven fronting carrier that has been there for hundreds of companies through dynamic market cycles. Zurich Captives and Alternative Risk Solutions can help companies find creative, cost-effective ways to manage their risk programs, including addressing emerging risks, coverage gaps and capacity limitations in the traditional insurance market. Zurich’s capabilities are backed by the company’s leadership position in service, compliance, risk engineering and claims. I’m very excited to help businesses explore options as part of a strategic, holistic risk solution – not just transactional but potentially transformational for their business.”

Scherzinger is a key member of the Customer Strategy team run by Valerie Butt.

In March, Scherzinger joined Zurich North America’s Captives organization from Zurich Latin America in São Paulo, Brazil, where she served as regional Head of International Program Business for Commercial Insurance.

Scherzinger has more than 15 years of industry experience, predominantly handling international corporate business. Following stints at UBS and Swiss Re, she held roles as a reinsurance specialist for the Switzerland business unit of Zurich and as captive fronting manager for Zurich Global Corporate Asia Pacific.

She holds an Executive MBA awarded jointly by Fundação Getulio Vargas in Brazil and the University of Chicago’s Harris School of Public Policy.
