2025 Bermuda Captive Conference agenda unveiled
The Bermuda Captive Conference has announced the initial agenda for its 2025 event, which is set to return to its June calendar slot after being in September for several years after clashing with the Americas Cup.
Now in its 21st year, the conference – taking place from June 9–11 at the Hamilton Princess Hotel & Beach Club—will bring together industry leaders, captive owners, risk managers, and service providers to explore the evolving role of captives in a complex risk environment.
According to organisers the 2025 event will delve into emerging challenges, disruptive innovations, and regulatory shifts that are shaping the next frontier of captive insurance. The lineup includes industry insights, panel discussions, and real-world case studies from experts at the forefront of the industry.
“The Bermuda Captive Conference has always been more than just an industry event – it’s a forum for meaningful discussions that drive the evolution of captive insurance. This year, we’re embracing the theme of ‘Reimagining Risk’ to explore how captives can adapt to economic pressures, climate risks, and the latest technological disruptions,” said Séadna Kirwan, Bermuda Captive Conference chair and managing director at Aon Bermuda.
The three-day conference will feature a diverse range of sessions, including expanded Captive 101 sessions on Monday afternoon, a deep dive into Bermuda’s status as the jurisdiction of choice, a forward-looking discussion on economic crossroads and market volatility, and an exploration of how captives can leverage AI and parametric solutions to close the protection gap.
Some of the sessions that have so far been announced include:
• Bermuda – The Jurisdiction of choice: Shaping Captive Insurance Excellence will explore why Bermuda remains the gold standard for captives, featuring regulatory experts and leading industry voices.
• The Fronting Edge: Strengthening Global Reach Through Resilient Partnerships will examine how captives can strengthen global reach through resilient partnerships, addressing compliance and risk financing.
• Flood, Wind & Fire: Climate Challenges & Captive Solutions will spotlight climate-related risks and how captives can provide innovative, tailored solutions to mitigate environmental exposures.
• Disruptive Technology Driving the Future of Insurance will explore the AI-driven future of risk management and how captives are adapting to digital transformation.
• Economic Crossroads: Adapting to Global Macroeconomic Shifts will bring together leading economists to discuss inflation, interest rates, and global economic trends affecting the captive landscape.
