McGill & Partners has announced that head of energy Tim Fillingham passed away on 13th May 2023. He had been diagnosed with motor neurone disease, a progressive condition for which there is no current cure.
Fillingham started his career with Andrew Weir Insurance Brokers, then joined Alexander Howden, subsequently becoming part of Aon, where he spent nearly 25 years, focussing on Energy risks both onshore and offshore. In 2000, he was appointed chairman of the Natural Resources Division of Aon.
Fillingham was part of the team that initiated the project plan to create a new start-up insurance company in 2007, which ultimately became Torus.
