Aspen Re unveils new appointment

Aspen Re, the reinsurance arm of the Bermuda-based re/insurer Aspen Insurance Group, has made an internal promotion to bolster its US property reinsurance portfolio.

G. Robert Walters has been promoted to senior vice president, head of property treaty, effective from October 1. 

Walters will remain based at the Rocky Hill office in Connecticut and will report to Scott Kreuzer, senior managing director at Aspen Re America.

Walters has 33 years of experience and joined Aspen Re as vice president, property treaty, over nine years ago. Prior to that, Walters spent almost nine years in various positions at Allianz Global Corporate and Specialty. He joined Allianz from Chubb where he was an assistant vice president for three years. Walters began his career at XL Reinsurance. 

Kreuzer, senior managing director, Aspen Re America, stated, “Rob’s promotion will be instrumental in driving the strategic direction of our property reinsurance portfolio in the US alongside myself and Phil Hough. Our US reinsurance team is entering an exciting phase as we expand and enhance our efforts to serve our customers’ evolving needs.”
