Captives expert for new Allianz technology team
Allianz Global Corporate & Specialty (AGCS) has appointed Jody Yee to the new role of global industry solution director for technology, media & telecom (TMT).
The appointment is part of the business's transformation program to tailor product development, marketing and distribution to specific industries. According to Allianz, the move will include the development of alternative risk solutions and captive services.
It follows the group's launch of its financial services industry practice last year under Paul Schiavone. Like him, Yee will report to Jeremy Sharpe, AGCS global head of distribution.
“We are eager to develop a special value proposition for our key target sectors, and the Global Industry Solution Directors are at the heart of it,” explained Henning Haagen, chief regions and markets officer for AGCS’s business outside North America.
“With Jody Yee, we have found the perfect first advocate for clients and brokers in the technology, media and telecom space. He will drive the development of bespoke solutions for them in the wide Allianz universe – be it traditional insurance products, global programs and increasingly also alternative risk transfer and captive support.”
Yee has significant experience in alternative risk transfer. Previously, he was managing director and global practice group leader cyber in AGCS’s ART division. His focus was on business development, global captive fronting, and structured and integrated transactions.
Before joining Allianz in 2007, Yee was a finance officer for Marsh Global Markets and began his career with Swiss Re.
