Holmes Murphy bring in new EB platform

Holmes Murphy has launched CLUE (Client Learning and Understanding Engine) – an enhanced proprietary analytics platform designed to bring sharper insights, smarter strategies, and stronger outcomes to clients across Holmes Murphy’s property casualty and employee benefits landscape.

The company said that with this launch, it reinforces its position as a market leader in insights-driven consulting.

“CLUE isn’t just a tool – it’s a new way of serving clients,” said Jeffrey Austin White, Holmes Murphy chief data & analytics officer. “By combining advanced analytics with our decades of expertise, we’re giving our consultants the ability to uncover deeper opportunities and deliver even more value.”

Built exclusively for Holmes Murphy clients, CLUE centralises benefit plan, insurance program, and claims data into a single platform. Interactive dashboards turn complex data into clear direction, allowing Holmes Murphy experts to identify trends, benchmark performance, and anticipate risks for clients.

The company said that for sales to service to claims and risk management, CLUE equips Holmes Murphy team members with valuable insights that help clients stay competitive, manage costs, and shape more effective programs.

According to Holmes Murphy key client benefits include:

• Benchmarking benefit plans, coverages, loss ratios, and loss rates against industry norms

• Identifying claim frequency and severity trends across industries

• Optimising program design with predictive forecasting to anticipate future costs

“The launch of CLUE reflects our broader strategic investment in data analytics,” said Dan Keough, Holmes Murphy chairman & chief executive. “Our Enterprise Analytics team – which has more than 50 years of combined expertise in data science, statistics, data engineering, and business intelligence – supports Holmes Murphy’s employee benefits and property casualty teams in delivering tailored, data-driven solutions. This not only helps us identify our clients’ risks sooner but drives down their risk management costs faster.”

Holmes Murphy added that in early deployments, CLUE has already delivered measurable outcomes. For a large employer facing rising healthcare costs and declining health outcomes, CLUE identified gaps in preventive care through a full analysis of the employer’s data in comparison to Holmes Murphy’s portfolio of data. Holmes Murphy then provided guided, targeted engagement strategies, setting realistic expectations for a 3-year improvement window. If followed, this will result in significantly higher screening rates and lower overall claim costs.

“In another case, we used CLUE to review the historical safety performance of one of our manufacturing clients. This evaluation uncovered inconsistencies in safety practices across their multiple locations,” said White. “By analysing these historical trends and identifying key risk areas, our Holmes Murphy team was able to tailor a strategy to help our client implement proactive interventions, in turn leading to measurable improvements in safety culture and risk mitigation. These are just two of several case studies we have showcasing the power of CLUE backed by its tremendous data.”

“CLUE represents the next evolution in how we partner with our clients,” added Keough. “It ensures that every recommendation is backed by the power of data, delivering measurable impact on performance and cost management.”
