WTW appoints Bermuda veteran to lead captives business in Asia Pacific
Willis Towers Watson has appointed Lawrence Bird as head of its captive management operations in Asia Pacific. Based in Singapore, he’ll report to Peter Carter, the head of WTW’s global captive practice and be on WTW’s Global Captive Practice Executive Leadership Team.
Bird brings 35 years’ experience in insurance, including 23 years in captive and insurance management based in Guernsey and then in Bermuda, where he headed Marsh’s captive operations.
“We are delighted that Lawrence will be joining us,” said Peter Carter, head of global captives at WTW. “His experience and insights will be critical in helping us realise the opportunity in this strategically important region for us.”
