Kevin Mead joins as strategic adviser

Captive Review, sister publication of Captive International, has appointed former Vermont Captive Insurance Association (VCIA) CEO Kevin Mead as a strategic adviser.

Mead spent three and half years as CEO of the VCIA. He left the in September this year. He will bring the experience and network of connections built in that time to strengthen the offering of Captive Review and Captive International.

He joins Captive Review at an exciting time in its growth journey. Captive Review was acquired last year by Newton Media, owner of Captive International. Newton has been investing in building both publications’ content and events offerings to best serve the global captive industry.

Mead will be tasked with adding to those aims, using his industry expertise and connections to strengthen market presence and audience engagement.

“I’ve long enjoyed working with Captive Review and Captive International, and to now have the opportunity to work alongside their teams at Newton and assist in delivering the specialist insight and knowledge needed by the captive industry is something I’m beyond excited about,” Mead said about his new role.

Mead will be joining the Captive Review team of the European Captive Forum in Luxembourg this week, Europe’s largest event dedicated to captive insurance, arranged by Captive Review with an agenda formulated by ECIROA and CICA.
