Marsh appoints new nuclear leader
Marsh has announced the appointment of Everett Hansen (pictured) as US nuclear leader, Marsh Specialty.
According to Marsh Hansen assumes, effective immediately, accountability for leading a team of specialists in delivering risk and insurance solutions that support the burgeoning US nuclear industry.
Based in Milwaukee, Hansen brings a decade of operational, brokerage, advisory, and engineering experience in nuclear energy risk and insurance management to his new role. He is a former active-duty US Naval Nuclear Submarine Officer, a graduate of the United States Naval Academy and the US Naval Nuclear Propulsion Program, and holds a Master of Science in Systems Engineering from Florida State University.
He joined Marsh in 2023 as a Vice President. He reports to Matt Begnaud, US energy & power advisory leader, and Jim Palaia, US and Canada nuclear energy leader.
Commenting on the appointment, Begnaud said: “As global energy demand increases and the industry continues to evolve, we recognise the critical role that clean energy sources, particularly nuclear energy, play in this transition. I’m confident that under Everett’s leadership, we will continue to provide the innovative risk and insurance solutions that support the growing demand for nuclear fission and fusion energy worldwide.”
Hansen added: “With the resurgence of nuclear energy as a resilient and zero-carbon electricity source, owners, operators, developers, and investors face a complex risk landscape that demands innovative solutions. I look forward to leading a team of highly specialised colleagues in supporting our clients, enabling them to capitalise on the nuclear energy opportunity.”
