New captive head at HDI Group

Jelto Borgmann has been promoted to the post of head of captive services at HDI Group, based in Hannover.

According to Borgmann he will: 

• Lead and mentor a team of captive insurance professionals, fostering a culture of excellence and innovation

• Oversee professional development and training initiatives for team members

• Spearhead strategic initiatives and portfolio development for the Captive Services department

• Successfully drive and expand the profitable captive fronting portfolio through targeted growth strategies

• Lead digital presence and thought leadership initiatives through LinkedIn and industry conference presentations

• Design and implement sophisticated global insurance programs with captive participation for multinational clients

• Develop and maintain robust risk assessment frameworks for the captive fronting portfolio

• Execute complex negotiations with global stakeholders

Borgmann has been with the company for eight years, having started as a captive portfolio manager in 2026, again in Hannover.

He was an actuary at HDI Reinsurance (Ireland) from April 2019 to October 2019, based in County Dublin, Ireland.
