CIMA fundraising event pulls in $43,000

Members of the Cayman Islands Insurance industry came together at the Kimpton Seafire Hotel on Saturday 16th September to support the 11th Annual Gala & Scholarship Fundraiser held by the Insurance Managers Association of Cayman (IMAC).

The annual event raises funds for the Educational Scholarship Fund which over the years has raised in excess of $5 million and has enabled 65 young Caymanians pursue further studies around the globe in disciplines as diverse as business management, public relations, aviation management, and various areas covering the arts and sciences.

“IMAC is pleased to continue to do its utmost to support our youth and support the educational development of the next generation,” said Heather Deveau, co-chair of the IMAC Education committee. “It is also great to see the Insurance Management community come together for such a fun event while raising funds for such a worthy cause.”

Organisers said that there was a record turnout of over 370 attendees and that a total of $43,000 was raised for the IMAC Educational Scholarship Fund.

Alex Bodden, managing partner at RSM Cayman added: “As a key sponsor of the event we are very pleased to continue to support the fundraising efforts of IMAC. The annual gala gives us all an opportunity to hear from students how the IMAC scholarship fund has impacted their lives and how the fund has helped students achieve their higher education dreams and the associated impact on the Cayman community, which may not have been possible without the financial support from the IMAC scholarship fund. At RSM we believe strongly in education and are happy to play a role in supporting the next generation.”
