Helio Risk unveils new general counsel and chief risk officer

Helio Risk has announced that Heather McClure is starting a new position as general counsel and chief risk officer at the company.

Helio Risk offers captive formation & management, commercial insurance & reinsurance, enterprise risk management & consulting and actuarial & analytical support services. It is based in Oklahoma.

Before joining Helio Risk, McClure was chief risk advisor for the national healthcare practice at Aon from May 2021 to March 2023.

Prior to that role McClure was chief risk officer at the University of Oklahoma’s health system from April 2007 to May 2021, directing risk, claims, captive operations, and insurance structure, including property, cyber, directors and officers, employer liability, workers compensation, provider professional liability, hospital liability, aviation, auto, and all other commercial and captive lines.

She also served as chief legal officer of the system’s captive insurance company.
