Marsh reshuffles captives leadership team in Guernsey

Insurance broker and risk adviser Marsh has appointed Ian Drillot as head of its captive solutions office in Guernsey.

Drillot succeeds Stephen Hawkes, who is returning to the UK to take up a new role developing Marsh’s international captive solutions. Drillot and Hawkes both report to Will Thomas-Ferrand, international practice leader for Marsh captive solutions.

Drillot was previously head of JLT’s Guernsey captive office, a position he held since 2014. He began his career as an accountant with Deloitte.

In his new role he oversees the continued development and expansion of Marsh’s captive solutions capabilities in Guernsey.

Thomas-Ferrand praised Drillot’s “extensive experience in managing and developing captive insurance programmes that help protect our clients from the increasingly complex risks they now face.”

Drillot added: “Guernsey has a long-standing reputation as one of the world’s leading captive domiciles and is renowned for its innovative approach to captive insurance. As an islander, I’m particularly proud to have the opportunity to develop Marsh’s operations and contribute towards local growth and employment.”

In operation since 1975, Guernsey is one of Marsh’s longest-standing captive offices. It provides captive insurance and risk advisory services to Marsh’s clients worldwide.
