Nexus Specialty hires Bruce Simmons to beef up financial lines business

Nexus Specialty has hired Bruce Simmons as vice president of professional and management, as the MGA builds up its recently launched financial lines business.

Simmons was most recently chief underwriting officer of MGA Zon Re. He has also worked at Gen Re, Allied World and AXA XL Catlin, all in management and professional liability roles.

Nexus’s modular financial lines offering provides a range of management and professional liability products, including miscellaneous professional liability, directors and officers, employment practices, fidelity, fiduciary, employed lawyers and cyber, all written on a primary or excess basis.

Adam Kembrooke, chief executive officer and president of Nexus Group US, welcomed Simmons’ technical understanding of Nexus’ product coverages, which he said will enhance its growing US financial product lines and service offerings.

Simmons said he shared Nexus’ vision that “data analytics will help drive best in class underwriting, relationship management and service deliverables to our SME clients.”
