Stonybrook Capital taps JLT Re SVP to form risk management unit


Stonybrook Capital, a pre-eminent investment and merchant bank with a focus on the insurance sector, has formed a new risk management division, appointing Andrew Downing as its president.

In this role Downing will provide value-added services to  clients and prospects with an emphasis on the insurance carrier and managing general agent marketplace, captive services, insurtech, product development, alternative risk, and reinsurance and strategic advisory.

Downing has over 25 years of re/insurance experience and has held a number of positions at EW Blanch, Towers Perrin/Towers Watson and most recently JLT Re.
