Top Gun pilot to speak at CICA international conference
A "Top Gun" award winning US Air Force pilot who went on to found a non-profit organisation for the families of fallen or disabled war veterans will be the keynote speaker at the Captive Insurance Companies Association's international conference.
Lt Col Dan Rooney is a former F-16 Viper fighter pilot who twice won the Top Gun award and flew three combat tours during the war in Iraq. He has received numerous military commendations and medals and the White House’s “Presidential Volunteer Service Award".
He founded Folds of Honor in 2007 which has since provided nearly 51,000 life-changing scholarships totalling approximately $240 million to the children and spouses of fallen or disabled military members.
CICA's conference takes place from March 10-12 at the Westin Kierland Resort & Spa, Scottsdale, Arizona.
CICA said Rooney’s keynote “CAVU: Live Unlimited” embraces the pilot’s weather report “ceiling and visibility unlimited” as a daily pathway for clarity of purpose, fulfillment, pressing through life storms, and a deep relationship with God.
His keynote incorporates leadership, fighter pilot lessons, Folds of Honor, unlocking talents through faith, and embracing resistance with a resilient spirit.
Leon Rives II, chief visionary officer, RH CPAs, PLLC, which is sponsoring the keynote, said: “Lt. Col Rooney’s passion, his distinguished military career and his success as a professional golfer, philanthropist and author all flow from his purpose-driven life.
"He truly wants to inspire us all to live a full life and to help others.”
